It is finally fall. Now, the weather isn't quite at that 70-80 degree mark yet [it was 99 degrees here yesterday], but it's getting there. Its sunny/overcast and in the mid 80's right now, and I'll take it. Tomorrow it may rain... [pleeease rain]
I haven't posted much lately, mainly because a) I'm busy b) I haven't had any major breakthroughs lately to document. I'm still going to bikram yoga 4x's a week, which is all I can do with my work schedule. I had my 6 month birkam yoga-versary on Septbember 17th, which was also my 130th class.
My practice has been pretty focused, and I've managed to control my breath well. No major breakthroughs in the postures though, just little things I understand better. My left knee however, has been hurting a little for the last 2 weeks. It's hard to explain, like a twinge in the side/back of my knee. I feel it during tree pose, and because of it I cannot lift my foot very high. It's that twisting by the knee that causes it. I feel it at work when I sit cross legged too long -- when I unbend it, it's tight and there is a little pain. It hasn't really slowed me down, and has only affected how much I push myself in tree/toe.
Aside from that, I am just sticking to routine, routine, routine. So far, it's working, but it does cause me to fall asleep [even on Fridays] at 10pm. Still have been going without caffeine [since the end of June], although it could make me more productive I suppose. I've been struggling with using my free time wisely. For instance, on the weekends, I never quite know what to do with myself. I go to yoga, maybe run an errand, then I'm home. I guess I need to pick up a book and read... I like not having plans, but sometimes that can get boring.
No complaints though, I am happy that today is Saturday. After all, the present is really all we have.
Namaste
