Practicing yoga will always be my first love and priority when it comes to the hot room.
The owners of my studio left Tuesday morning, leaving me in charge of 17 classes in 6 days.
Tuesday:
Took the 9am 60 minute class
Taught the 4:30pm 90 minute class
Taught the 6:30pm 90 minutes class
Wednesday:
Taught the 6am 60 minute class
Practiced to the 60 minute CD
Taught the 9am 60 minute class
Taught the 5:30pm 60 minute class
Thursday (today):
Taught the 9am 60 minute class
Practiced to the 60 minute CD
I’m about to head back and teach the 4:30 & 6:30pm 90 minutes classes
I’m glad I’ve been able to at least practice to the CD, but it’s certainly not ideal. Both times I’ve practiced after the heat has turned off; the room has been between 96-101 degrees — luckily I’ve still been sweating. I get a little distracted by myself (like having my phone in the room and taking videos and pictures), but I still feel great after.
I guess that practicing doesn’t always mean having a live teacher and room full of other yogis; sometimes it’s an opportunity to try things in a little different way.
Teaching has been fun, I usually get a good bit of energy during classes, especially when a big group of yogis are there. It is very tiring though, lots and lots of talking.
Off I go! 6 down — 11 to go.
Namaste
