I officially ♥ Bikram Yoga

56 classes in 54 days. I am only 4 classes away from getting to 60 classes! Saturday will be 60 classes in 57 days [to make up for leaving town the last 3 of my 60 days]. It has been quite a journey. Bikram has left me feeling strong, and much more confident in my body and myself. I see changes in other aspects of my life as well, such as my kettlebell workouts. Tonight during a grueling 5 sets of 5 minute swings at kettlebells, I really paid attention to my breathing and just getting through the workout, and it made it all was much more tolerable.

Yesterday I did another Bikram double [did one on Sunday too]. When I got to my second class of the day, the owners of the studio were laughing as I came in. I said “what, did you miss me?”, to which their replies were “yes, because it has been so long since we last saw you. At this rate, you’re just going to have to quit your job so you can keep coming” [work starts in 1 ½ weeks]. Class last night was good for me, aside from being distracted by the loud breathing man next to me. Not to mention, everyone else in class was fidgeting like crazy, chugging water, not really focused. But, they were not for me to worry about, so I just focused and took advantage of savasanas. Well, after class as I was leaving, my teacher said to me,
“you know what I wanted to say tonight? Was that the person who’s second class of the day it is, is the most focused and determined person in the room. I decided that might make them feel bad, and that I would just tell you afterwards.”
It was really sweet to hear that, and that she noticed my focus and intention. She also said I am a quick study, and that I get it, and have gotten it faster that a lot of people.

I'm so glad that I decided to [practically] dedicate my summer to my practice. It has made me a better version of myself.
